How to switch back to classic Google Finance

You can’t — not on google.com. The switch-to-classic link was removed for every account on July 23, 2026, and the change lives on Google’s servers, not in your browser. Below is every method people are passing around, what actually happens when you try it, and the one route that really does put the classic page back on your screen.
Method 1: the old classic URLs
The addresses that used to force the old interface, like google.com/finance?classicand bookmarked quote pages from before the redesign, all resolve to the new AI-first page now. Google’s router no longer knows a classic version exists.
Result: does not work.
Method 2: clearing cookies, incognito, or a fresh profile
This one spreads because it used to matter: during the 2025 test phase, which version you saw could depend on your session, so resetting state sometimes flipped you back. Since the global rollout finished, both versions no longer exist to flip between. A clean browser gets the same redesign as your signed-in one.
Result: does not work.
Method 3: changing country, language, or VPN location
Until April 2026 some regions still defaulted to the classic design, so a VPN could genuinely land you on the old page. The redesign has been worldwide since then, and the July 23 beta exit removed the toggle everywhere at once. There is no country left to route through.
Result: does not work.
Method 4: extensions and user styles
Stylus themes and a handful of Chrome extensions promise the “old look.” What they deliver is the new page with different paint: they can hide the AI panel and compress some spacing, but the removed features — portfolios you can sort by performance, editable transaction history, the full stats table — were server-rendered by Google. No stylesheet can recreate functionality that is not in the page.
Result: cosmetic at best.
Method 5: the Wayback Machine
Archived snapshots of the classic pages exist and they are a nice museum. But the prices are frozen at crawl time, most links are dead, and nothing personal — watchlists, portfolios — ever worked in an archive. Fine for one hit of nostalgia, useless for checking the market.
Result: not usable day to day.
Method 6: use a faithful rebuild
The only working route left is also the most direct one: the classic experience, rebuilt from scratch as its own product, with live market data underneath. Same dense quote page, same instant chart ranges, same plain watchlists, and no AI layer between you and the numbers. It is independent of Google, and the rebuild is complete. Common questions
Was there an official way to switch back before July 23?
Yes — a “switch to classic” link shipped with the redesign through its whole test phase, from August 2025 until Google Finance left beta on July 23, 2026. That link is what was removed.
Do any hidden URL parameters still work?
No. Every parameter and legacy path we tested redirects to the new page. The classic front-end is gone from Google’s servers, so there is nothing for a parameter to select.
Can I at least turn off the AI parts of the new page?
Not officially. Extensions can hide the AI summaries visually, but they cannot bring back the classic layout or the removed portfolio tools, and they break whenever the page markup changes.
Is the rebuild affiliated with Google?
